Several good qualities, but very dim - poor light transmission

I bought them because I wanted a rangefinding reticle, and the "whiz wheel" (circular slide rule) located on the objective for doing the range or height calculations is very convenient. Good, unique design !

I have an older pair, the armor is yellow & black. They have been "knocked about" a lot, but are still in collimation. Good build quality !

However, the view is very dim compared to many other binoculars in my possession. Not what I expect from BAK-4 prism glass ! Perhaps the company can clean the internal optics ? The outside of the lenses is clean, but when I view a white background looking through the objective side, I see "foggy" patches/spots on the internal optics. Otherwise they would be a 5 star rating.

There is also a lot of color distortion from the lens coating. OTOH these are meant as marine binoculars, where color distortion is less important. I am using them in the woods for birdwatching. Probably the newer ones have an improved coating, coatings are always getting better.

Fit as described!

It is sturdy and beautiful color. It is very clear to watch things so far. It is with a black bag that can be easy to carry when we go outside.

Very impressed with Optics

I am very impressed with the quality of the optics of these binoculars, especially considering the price! Very happy with first impressions. We will see how the hold up for durability as they get tossed around the boat. But again, very impressed with the optics quality and clarity as well as the built in features.

Very clear

Everything about these seem well built. Easy to adjust the eye focus for each eye. Compass is easy to use and will be helpful. I probably won't test the waterproofness or see how well it floats! not sure I'll ever use the distance scale but nice that it's there. These are not night vision. They work okay at dusk and have a light for the compass.
